Thando Thabethe

This look was nothing short of botanical poetry. Styled as a love letter to Mzansi’s natural elegance, this couture gown by Willet Designs Couture was a standout at Durban July 2025.

The strapless silhouette features a delicately structured bodice with sheer panels, hand-embroidered vines, and miniature florals that cascade down into a lilac tulle train, mimicking the lush textures of indigenous flora. The dramatic cherry blossom crown branches out like nature’s halo, elevating the entire look into the realm of fantasy.

From the mossy appliqué to the 3D petal shoulder detailing, every inch of this creation speaks to the theme of Marvels of Mzansi, a visual ode to the landscapes, colors, and spirit of South Africa.
